T-Mobile is an internationally known telecommunications company. In 2020 they announced its merger with Sprint Mobile. T-Mobile has the largest 5G coverage in the US and required a new SIM kit to distribute to its new Sprint customers due to the merger.
BPAK had already supplied SIM kits to T-Mobile for the last decade and, therefore had a good reputation with them. We were asked to outlay what the manufacturing process would look like to fulfill 21 million PAKs. This was by far our biggest order and I am glad I got to be part of this project.
When this order was in its initial stages, I had only been at BPAK for a few months and thus remains the most impressive project I have worked on. This was my first job in packaging design and therefore I was still very new to the role of packaging and producing printed products myself however due to a lot of practice, I trained myself on the printing machinery to create fully functioning samples.
I initially created various concept PAKs to send out to T-Mobile by producing studio samples, which got continuously developed to create the final product based on the Canberra PAK with new features such as a barcode window and SIM pin holder.
